Hey!! Another maniac on the loose again!! This time it's none other then Sirius the Black, a high-profile, mass murderer, with
no mercy!! Mwahahaha. There's more, he'a hunting for young Harry to have Harry's flesh and blood for a religious ritual!!
Just kidding. Book 3 is probably one of the most exciting books yet. Well, before I read GOF and OOTP that is. Okay, this
book starts with the usual Harry Potter, losing his temper when Aunt Marge, another distant relative of the Dursleys, speaks
badly of his parents and him, that caused Harry to say...
"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry," to Aunt Marge.
She should have heeded the warning but instead she keeps going on and on and on about how kind and un-selfish the Dursleys
were to him. That was the final straw. Harry (for the second time in his life) did magic without a wand, again. This caused
Aunt Marge to puff into a balloon and Harry remembering how the Dursleys had put bars on his room window last year,
decides to take revenge to escape and run away from the Dursleys. He was then fourtunately picked up by a Knight Bus, an
emergency transport for lost or stranded witches and wizards. While on the bus, Harry learns sirius stuff about Sirius
who was fresh out from Azkaban. According to the conductor, Si-ri-us-ly murdered thirteen people with only one curse and
was a very loyal supporter and the most faithful Death Eater of the famous, handsome Lord Voldemort. Soon, Harry's friends
Hermione and the Weasleys join him in Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley after they have gotten the news of his great Houdidni
escape. Harry overhears Mr. and Mrs. Weasley saying that Sirius Black wants Harry dead like his parents. On the train to
school, Harry and his friends shared a compartment with a new professor, Remus J.Lupin. While on Hogwarts Express, a
gliding "LOTR blackrider" aproached them and this made Harry hear his parents' screams and he later fainted "like a damsel
in distress",<-<-<-added for fun. He was "saved" by Lupin and Harry took an instant liking for the new Hogwarts Defence
Against the Dark Arts (DADA) teacher. At Hogwarts, Harry, Hermione and Ron learn that gliding "LOTR blackrider", known
as dementors are actually guarding the school from Sirius Black. Another interesting and rather important sub-plot, is about
Hermione getting a new pet in this book, Crookshanks. Ron's pet rat is none too thrilled about this at all and this creates a lot
of friction between the two pets and friends. Back to the dementors. In this year's important Quidditch game against
Hufflepuff, Harry sees them (the dementors) and faints again as he did on the bus earlier. His Nimbus 2000 broomstick is
destroyed when he falls to the ground during the match. And this made Gryffindor's chance of winning the Quidditch Cup as
slim as this line -. However, Lupin promises to help Harry fight the dementors and gradually teaches Harry a spell that could
save his life. Right after that, Harry mysteriously gets a 'Firebolt' the latest and best broomstick of the era. He and Ron
thinks it's either from Dumbledore or Lupin but Hermione has a different opinion. This created a conflict between the boys
and her. As this book continues more mysteries of Harry's past seem to be unfolding before his and our very eyes. And one
day, Ron even woke up yelling one night demanding that Sirius Black had gotten into the Gryffindor dorm. Oh, so much
happens in this third book of the HP series, telling any more would just spoil the whole excitement of reading it. This mass
murderer, Siriusly Black, (oh, i just love tormenting Siriuss' fans with his name. BIG APOLOGY!!) I shall warn you must not
be taken lightly as he has a huge secret behind...his back. Also, who is the mysterious broom sender, could it be from Tom
Riddle or perhaps James Potter?? And who exactly is the R.J.Lupin, could he turn out to be like Quirrel? Find out, yourself!!
Things to watch out in HP&POA : Quidditch with the Firebolt, Hermione's attack on Malfoy, the description of the Dementors,
stuff heard by Harry in Hogsmede, Siriuslah -he's- Black and R.J.Lupin, any part
involving a boggart, the result of "Expecto Patronum" and Hermione's Secret.
Rating : 87% -So very satisfiying, especially with the host of new characters, new spells, new subjects and new secrets. A
very entertaining and thrilling tale.
