| November 19th, 2002: Finally, I have some more news on the new Eddings series, The Dreamers. The first book, officially titled The Elder Gods, has a release date (in hardback) for 15th July, 2003. The first of four book in the series is 432 pages long. Here is an updated synopsis from Amazon.co.uk: Synopsis: New series, new world, and a glorious story destined to reach the biggest audience yet. The Dreamers teeter on the brink of divinity. They have the power to change the world with their dreams. They look like children. They are, in fact, sleeping gods. The Dreamers are an apparition designed to fool the Lord of the Wasteland who plans to use the moment of the divinities' waking to destroy them. At that moment, he can do it, but no other. If he gets it right, the Lord of the Wasteland can destroy both the sleepers and the other divinities that are already awake. Then the Lord of the Wasteland will be acknowledged as the god he knows himself to be. There are eight divinities altogether, and four of them are awake while the other four sleep for alternating periods of 25,000 years. The time for a switchover is approaching fast. There will be battle. There will be trickery and deception. Tribes of humans, creatures of the deep, the sea itself and the earth, the weather and the mood of the divinities, all will play their part in the epic struggle against the hive mentality of the Lord of the Wasteland. But the world is out of kilter, it is being dreamed, and the awakening of gods is no simple transition. September, 2002: There is a new Eddings series in the making! The first book should be out later on in 2003. The series is called The Dreamers and is a tetrology (four book series). It is placed in an entirely new world. Stay tuned for more news... 5th August, 2002: 'Regina's Song' has hit the book stores all over the world and is now available for you to read! Go to the "The Eddings Books" and to the Regina's Song page for a review and the cover image. Go to your nearest library or bookstore now and go grab the newest Eddings masterpiece. For more reviews and information about the book, go to the Amazon.com site or CLICK HERE. News on Regina's Song: The Eddings have started to write a brand new book! The title is set to be called "Regina's Song" but it's not going be a fantasy like most of their other books. The Eddings have changed their writing style and are writing "Regina's Song" as a contemperary thriller. It is set in Seattle and is written to try and get the reader to cheer for a serial killer (???) According to Amazon.co.uk, the book is about 400 pages and may be coming out in Hardback on the 5th of August, 2001 but this date is uncertain as the Eddings have said that they haven't actually set a date for it to be published (confirmed by David Eddings himself that it would come out around August). I will try to find out as much more infomation on this fantastic new book as I can (I'm just as excited as you) so keep checking back often to find out more. News on Redemption of Althalus: The Eddings' new book "The Redemption of Althalus" has finally come out in paperback. The book, about the quest of a theif (named Althalus *duh*) who has to use his criminal skills to help the Goddess Dweia save the world from her evil brother God and his underlings. As you can tell, the clash of personalities (Althalus being a completely non-religious theif and Dweia being a holy immortal being) make this latest Eddings creation a very interesting read. |
