This
section is for members to share articles on land hermit crab
care, personal experiences, analysis of research articles, dealing
with pet stores in a positive way, and more. If you are interested
in writing a monthly or one-off article then send it in to [email protected]
and our editor and producer will look it over with view to publishing
it in the CSJ.com online website as well as the CD of PDF based
archives and printed versions.
A
general guide is:
A
Feature-type article say for example: Harvesting Hermies: Pet
Ownership vs Conservation Goals, would run 1,000 to 1,200 tops
for an in depth article.
If
you were covering a series of short topics like Hermies in the
News, or Hermit Crab Research ... These are very short, running
250 - 500 words including info referring the reader to the original
source, so they can read more if they want to.
Review type articles like Spotlights, Bios, store or product
reviews should run 500 - 750 words each. A good place to get
the general idea for style on these are resturant reviews in
your local paper. The hard part in these is to present short
comings in a positive way: We would have like it better if they
... , or We were disappointed they did not have ... , etc.
