Made by Tetra,
this popular product has been used for years with fish as a diet
supplement. It is currently available in stores as Tetra or TetraMin
Baby Shrimp Sun Dried Treat, and may also be found in the Reptiles
section re-packaged under the name Tetra ReptoMin Baby Shrimp.
A
wonderful supplement to offer post-moulters, it consists of dried
baby shrimp -- very close to what the moulter's exoskeleton is
made of. They can munch away on it in those times where another
hermit crab might have snuck off with the exoskeleton of a moulter,
or given on pre-moult signs as a boost of calcium and nutrients.
Not just for moulters, Tetra Baby Shrimp Sun Dried Treat can be
offered as an all year round. Like with other treats, only offer
every week or so to supplement the staple diet of commercial,
fresh and dried foods.
The
photos below are of Kali, Raiven's Carribean hermit crab (C. clypeatus)
that will learn any trick just to get some of that yummy BabyShrimp
treat.

Hermit
Crabs love this treat. You only need to offer a baby shrimp
or two every two weeks or so, so the jar lasts a long time.
Great source of calcium, chitin and nutrients. |
| Cons |
Slightly
expensive, ranging from $2-#3US average. As you can imagine,
it has a strong shrimp smell, which is oneo f the reasons
why Hermit Crabs love it. Not currently available in Australia.

"I tried all kinds of
dried brine and krill many years ago, even other brands of
dried baby shrimp. They were all turned down by Jon and Kate.
Then I discovered TetraDelica Baby Shrimps, now called Tetra
Baby Shrimp Sun Dried Treat, and they loved it. I give each
one a small dish about every ten days or so and the dishes
are emptied in no time. If they are in their tree when I put
in the shrimp, they wake up and zoom down the tree like lightening--must
love the smell! That's good, 'cause I sure don't. And it's
good for them and that's a good thing."

I
bought some Tetra BabyShrimp Sun Dried Treat for my crabs
after hearing how other crabs went bonkers over it. My PPs
never seemed crazy about it. I've offered it once since I
got my Es, and I noticed most were gone. I will give it to
them more often. My cat, Tony, loves the stuff and comes running
when he hears me feeding the crabs. None is ever wasted.
