The Gears that I use for making my music and practising....
I have few guitars that I have bought when I had money in my pocket. All of them, I would say, are second class instruments which are not normally used in the recording studio. What can I say, I don't earn any money from music. I bought it from the hard earned money from my day-to-day works as a consultant. I wish I were professionals. I owned an Epiphone Joe Pass Model for Jazz, 2 Squire Stratotaster for Blues and Funk, One Epiphone Les Paul Classic for long sustain Blues, 2 Ibanez RG series for rock/heavy metal, 2 YAMAHA Acoustic Guitars (Steel and Nylon). And of course my very first guitar: Prince Stratocaster Model which was bought by my father.
For Guitar Amplifier, I'm quite a modest man since I don't want to spend too much money on this. Maybe it's partly because I don't have my own mansion with some distance from the neighbours. I can't imagine if I buy a 300W Mesa Boggie Triple Rectifier or Marshall.  My neighbours might throw something to our house. I only own a small Squire 15W and a Peavey 30W amplifier. For Keyboard and Bass I use Behringer Amplifier for their performance/value.
You can say I'm a tone freak since I have many Guitar Effects. I first bought Ibanez Power Trio Effect, then I sold it. I have collected many Amp modelling Guitar effect ever since. I have BOSS GT-6, BEHRINGER V-AMP2, LINE6 POD XT, TASCAM PS5 (also a recorder), YAMAHA QY-100 (Also a Sequencer), BOSS BR-1180CD (Also a multitrack HardDisk Recorder), NI Guitar Rig (Software), and Amplitube (Software from IK Multimedia). For the Controller I use BEHRINGER FCB-1010 since it's so universal that I can control all of my hardware and software effects. I bought all that in the search for the best distortion and clean tones. GOD knows why I didn't spend my money on decent guitar amplifier instead.
Once I played around with some multitrack recorders such as BOSS BR-1180CD, I encouraged myself to start on digital recording using a computer. I bought my first Digital Audio interface from Guitar Center in San Fransisco, CA. It's a 2 channel interface from M-AUDIO (Firewire Solo) with lousy preamp. It's not for a real professional recording so I don't recommend it. Then I bought my Edirol USB Interface UR-80 and I'm quite happy with the recording result. I use Cakewalk HomeStudio 2004 for tracking the MIDI and Audio. It's quite Powerful for a simple arrangement for Home Recording. For the Microphone I use RODE NT-1A large condenser for vocal and acoustic guitar miking. I purchased a small but 'big sound' BEHRINGER tube preamp, Tube Ultragain MIC100. For the MIDI Sound Module, I use Edirol Hypercanvas which comes with the USB Audio Interface. Some effect plugins from Cakewalk for reverb and exciter are actually not bad. For the Computer, it's PC based powered by Pentium 3 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.
Monitor? I use the
KRK RP-5 nearfield monitor for it's performance and good value for money.
Keyboard? I use Yamaha PSR 530 in the beginning, then I bought M-AUDIO Evolution MK461 MIDI Controller. It provides sufficient amount of control over some VST instruments. For adequate poliphony of piano recording, I use my YAMAHA Clavinova CVP series.

Bass? I only have one
Aria Bass Guitar. I use BEHRINGER Bass Amp and V-TONE BDI-21 pedal to colour the sound.
