| So, here we have the main character of LOTR. He is the heir of Bilbo, who is his cousin, not uncle, cousin (if you don't believe me, look it up in the book!)! Anyway, his cousin, Bilbo leaves him all of Bag End and everything in it; including an innocent-looking gold ring. Of course, this ring turns out to be the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron (which is good, cuz otherwise, it would have been a frightfully dull book). Gandalf then tells him that he must take the Ring to Rivendell so that a council can decide what to do with it. When he finally gets to Rivendell (after quite a bit of trouble, and being stabbed with a Morgul blade), Frodo volunteers to take the Ring to Mordor where it will be destroyed in the fires of Mt. Doom where it was created. Frodo is accompanied by his four good friends from the Shire, Pippin, Merry and Sam. He is also accompanied by Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Gimli, and Legolas. Together they are the Fellowship of the Ring (hence the title of the book). In the movies, Frodo is played by Elijah Wood (see above), who has absolutely gorgeous eyes! They're probably my favourite feature on him. He's also a great actor. He did a good job. |
