His
Blessings Upon Me

Retreat on
3 and 4 March 2003. This was written during the first activity when we were asked to
reflect on our lives and recall all His blessings upon us...............
He gave me a perfect
body for my soul,
Eyes to see, ears to
listen, a mouth to taste,
Hands to reach out,
feet to explore,
A mind and conscience
to guide me to seek more.
He gave me a heart to
hear others out,
The strength to
persevere in trying times,
Loving parents to guide
me along the way,
And nurture and mould
me into the person that I am today.
He lets me fall but
carries me through,
He stays by my side;
comforts me when I am blue,
He gives me an identity
to set me apart,
For He sees me special
and keeps me dear to His heart.
Many a time, I've felt
in my life thus far,
The doors to
opportunities are left ajar,
Only for me to seek the
courage and faith to enter,
To enrich my
experiences in life and to make it better.
But His greatest gift
to me is that of Jesus,
My saviour, Lord and
friend,
My sins, He takes upon
Himself; my wounds, He mends,
He, who is the alpha
and the omega, the beginning and the end.
Just as He has written
my name at the palm of His hand,
I have embalmed His
teachings at the very heart of my soul,
I pray ever so hard
that I may be worthy,
Of this love showered
upon me, so pure and so Holy.
