| Practical Magick: Binding Spell- For binding negativity: Take a bit of comfrey leaf, a pinch of nettle, some long blades of grass tied in knots (sweet grass works well), a closed safety pin, a small black piece of cloth and some red thread. Sit yourself down in sacred space underneath a waning moon. Concentrate on what you wish to bind while you assemble the pouch. Place everything in the pouch, bind it with the thread and empower it. Bury it or hang it in a tree well away from your property. Now, remember! Don't bind anything you shouldn't be or it will come back to haunt you (Harm none...) Sit yourself down in sacred space under a waxing moon. Concentrate on what you wish to bind while you assemble the pouch. Place everything in the pouch, bind it with the thread and empower it. Keep this one close to home! To Increase Prosperity- Grab an old purse or wallet, three low denomination coins, a pinch of cinnamon, a pinch of sage, a chalice of water, a small mirror (one that will fit in the wallet or purse), a piece of light green paper and a pen. Sit yourself down in sacred space under a waxing moon. Place the coins in the chalice. Write on the paper your idea of what prosperity is. Meditate upon this concept until it is firmly in your mind. Then, assemble the spell by placing all of the items in the purse/wallet (including the coins, but not the water obviously!). Meditate for a while longer on your prosperity. Make it real. Keep the spell in your purse, on your altar or somewhere else where you will come into contact with it often. About the Moon.... A rule of thumb for knowing when the moon rises The new moon always rises at sunrise. The first quarter at noon. The full moon always rises at sunset. The last quarter at midnight. Retrograde- A rule for coping with it's energies Retrograde can be a bitch. Your computer goes on the fritz. You keep tripping over your own feet. The car won't start. It just goes on and on. And, if your planets match the ones in retrograde it's even worse. What's a witch to do? Well, if you remember this, things will go much more smoothly: Only do things that begin in "Re" during retrograde. Reorganize, redecorate, revamp your car, reassess your priorities, reduce your spending, renew, relax.... Zodiac Oils- For attuning to the energies of the signs. For all of these formulas you place the essential oils & dried herbs in a 1 oz. bottle (cobalt or amber), top with olive, almond or grapeseed oil, then empower. Sagittarius Oil- 1 drop rosemary, 1 drop clove, 3 drops sweet orange, 1 drop ginger, 3 drops cedar wood, 3 drops lemon, 3 drops tangerine, a few cloves, a bit of rosemary leaf. Virgo Oil- 1 drop eucalyptus, 1 drop clove, 1 drop rosemary, 3 drops egyptian geranium, 3 drops lavender, 3 drops ylang-ylang, 1 drop frankincense, a bit of lavender flower, 1 hops flower, a bit of rosemary leaf. To Bless a New Relationship Bake a fresh loaf of bread. Hold it up to the moon and ask the lady to bless the bread as well as the relationship. Break off a piece of the bread for your partner, as well as one for yourself. As you share time together, consume the bread. Do not cut the bread with a knife or any other cutting tool, or you risk cutting your bond! Book of Shadows Blessing Preparation: At the time of the Full Moon, take your new Book of Shadows, a cup of water, a bowl of earth and some incense (sandalwood, copal or dragon's blood) outside. Ritual: Under the light of the Full Moon, draw a pentagram on the first page and under this write the following information: date, time, place, your magical name (and sigil if you have one), the moon's phase and any other info you feel is important.
