| I am an avid gardener. Digging in the earth, nurturing along seedlings, deadheading perennials and garden chores is spiritually satisfying to me. When I am out of balance, I head to the garden where I loose myself completely while renewing my spiritual balance and contributing to the wellness of our mother Earth.
At my house we have a garden for every reason and every season. In the spring we are treated to a show of over 200 daffodils in bloom, all nestled upon west facing slope. Crocus, snowdrops and violets dot the grassy areas. After the spring bulbs have nodded off to sleep again, the daylilies begin their show. There are over 200 of them as well and each one heralds the warmest season of the year. Perennials and herbs abound in every nook and cranny of our yard. Flowering trees and shrubs provide protection from the weather and privacy for our ritual areas. The culinary gardens are well loved and contain an abundance of herbs for our cooking needs. The Elements garden, which is contained within a stone circle, contains plants for each season. Its progression from spring to summer then to autumn and winter reflects the cycles of the seasons and of life itself. As one group of plants is passing on, another is coming into its cycle of growth. And so the Wheel goes. The photos on this page are selected ones from my garden. I hope you enjoy their richness as much as I do. What follows this page are my suggestions for theme gardens. I hope they provide you with some inspiration and create in you the desire to tend the earth as I do. You never know goddess so well as you do when you are in the garden. Green Blessings |
