Switzerland
Stanserhorn
From Florence we journey north, past the great commercial centre of Milan and the Italian Lake District, to the Swiss border. Here, on the St Gotthard route, we enjoy a scenic Alpine drive to Lucerne. Before proceeding  to Lucerne, we spent most of the day in Stanserhorn.

In Lucerne we had a visit to the emotive Lion Monument. We see the covered Chapel Bridge and the Jesuit Church. We enjoyed the wonderful sight by the lake: the lights reflection in the water and the pretty swans. We also enjoyed shopping in the commercial district.
Lucerne
We took the very steep  cogwheel railway and took the cable car to the top of the Stanserhorn mountains.
The 360 degrees scenic view was fantastic: the ALPS mountains, the lakes around and the foot railways and the picturesque towns around. It was really a great experience!
The Chapel Bridge
It was built in 1333 and is 200 meters in length and features 120 captioned triangular paintings from the early 1500s that chronicle the citys history. The bridge was nearly destroyed in a 1993 fire and has been restored

The Lucerne Cathedral
The Lucerne Lake
We sat by the lake watching the boats criss-crossing, watching & feeding the lovely swans and enjoying the sight of the fountain and the lights reflections in the water. It is such a lovely place!
