The Trevi Fountain
Fontana di Trevi) is known the world over as the fountain where Anita Ekberg cooled off at night in Fellini's film "La Dolce Vita.".
The Trevi Fountain is also famous as the setting for the popular romantic film "Three Coins a Fountain."
Legend has it that if you throw a coin into this fountain it guarantees your return to Rome. The ritual follows:�If you wish to return to Rome, you should come here on the last day of your visit, take a drink out of the rim of the fountain with your left hand, then turn and throw into the water, over your left shoulder, a halfpenny�. Today the fountain is filled with thousands of coins. |
