Clara,
Life starts at 40.
Some say that Life starts at 40; some say it does at 45, and
others even take it to 50. Seems to me that for everybody is a little
different. It seems to me that the transition to life is a personal experience.
In any case, what seems clear is that it is around NOW.
Friends that got there already tell
me that LIFE is about enjoying you. You
know yourself, you accept yourself and you like yourself. In LIFE there is
nothing to prove anymore. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore.
Some things you have proven already, others you don’t care to prove anymore.
Now you are able to enjoy every little bit of your life.
Now, there is a tunnel that separates
the pre-life from LIFE. And as every tunnel it is dark inside and when you go
into it, you cease to see the light and all the beautiful things that you were
used to see before. And it is scary. And you have no choice. You are pushed
into that tunnel. And the door closes behind you. There is no way back. And the
tricky part is that nothing pushes you to the exit door. Once you’re in, the
push stops. You are left in the darkness and it is up to you to find the exit
door (the entry door to Life). And it’s hard. I can tell you it’s hard because
I went there a couple of years ago and I am still there. I’ve been bouncing my
head against the walls but I’ve not been able to get out. I‘ve open several
doors but I did not dare to go. And now, I know why. I was afraid to go into
life alone. I don’t want to go without you. I do not want to enjoy life if I
know you are still in the darkness of the tunnel.
So come on in, join me in this
midlife crisis tunnel, let’s hold our hands in this stupid tunnel and let’s
find together the entry into LIFE. We made a good team ‘till now so imagine
what a hell of a team we can make in LIFE. Don’t look back for a while, stay
focus on the little light that shines ahead. Trust your instincts and trust me
and let’s go.
So I want to propose a toast, that it
a farewell toast. We say goodbye to your blossom beauty, your bright and
all-mighty youth. It was great but remember:
From now on, we won’t be as
beautiful, we won’t be a bright and we won’t be as careless as before. But with
our remaining beauty, our increased wisdom and our increasing wealth we’re
going to have the time of our life.
For LIFE, cheers
