| Psychic Defence Psychic Attacks - Part 1 I. Introduction - What is a "psychic attack"? A "psychic attack" is one, which much like a physical attack, can have devastating effects on the life of the victim. They come in many forms, some are intentional, some are not. Some attacks are with evil directed intent; sometimes a person is in the wrong place at the wrong time and simply bears the brunt of the effects. They are performed on a plain different from the physical plain. How to deal with such an attack will depend on the source of the malady. II. Types of Psychic Attacks. A. Type 1 - The Ignorant Mind This type of attack is usually not intentional. It can best be described with the analogy of a skidding car. Even though the car was not aimed at you, if you get in its path you will get hit. B. Type 2 - The Affected Place A "sensitive" person (one who may not be a full psychic) can be affected by the imprint left on a place and are subconsciously attuned to the forces left in that area. This often occurs in places where magik has occurred, or a magical object is in place. If the place or object has not been cleansed then the remnants of what has occurred may still effect people. Also it is known to happen if there has been a tragedy or a violent event. As everything in life is made of, and contains energies, and energy cannot be created or destroyed - simply transferred - in the event of a violent event or a tragedy the energy is transferred from the entities involved to the place where it occurred, or even an object relevant to the event, and is left there as an imprint C. Type 3 - Definitive Psychic Attack This is the type where an attack is purposeful and premeditated. The car is aimed at you and you are caught like a dear in its astral headlights. A person or group of people for one reason or another has chosen an individual and set out with the intent to psychically torture and harm them. (The methods in which this is accomplished will be discussed at a later point in time.) . What are the symptoms of a psychic attack? Often, if the force of the attack is substantial enough to affect the person that it is directed at the symptoms will start to be effected through sleep and dreams. A person may feel a weight on their chest, which also means that the attack is occurring locally as an incredible amount of energy is needed to form the kind of pressure and resistance to give the feeling of weight upon the chest of the victim. (Much like the picture of the demon sitting on the chest of the sleeping maiden.) A sense of fear and oppression often accompany this. It is as if the person is fighting an invisible battle in which they do not know the rules and are flying blind. Next comes the nervous exhaustion which can lead to the inevitable nervous break down. In extreme cases it has been known for the victim to become a hallow shell of a person, in which case death inevitably follows. Odors are also known to, but not always, occur in the event of a strong attack; most often the scent of rotting flesh which anyone in the premises will be able to smell regardless of whether they are psychic or not. Also it is important to note that not every person who has the above symptoms are under psychic attack. In many cases the problem can be effectively neutralized by science and mediation. The instances that are described above are cases in which there is no medical explanation for what is happening to the victim in question. Many people are drawn to the Craft for what it isn't.
