Oblasts of Soviet Belorussia and Łukashist Belarus

Under the USSR the Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic was divided in 7 regions according to purposes of defending the western border of the Soviet empire: Brest oblast, Grodno oblast, Gomel oblast, Vitebsk oblast, Mogilev oblast, Minsk oblast and the city of Minsk. This division was also based on former (before 1917) Russian division.

After Litva became independent, there was a project of dividing Belarus in 20-30 ziamlas according to historical and economical principles. But the Łukashist regime put an end to projects like this and kept the Soviet administrative division.

Brest (Bieraście) oblast

The arms of Bieraście oblast. Created in post-soviet times, but still on Sovietic principles.

The bison is a symbol of the Biełavieža forest, the red castle wall symbolises the Bieraście fortress, where the Bolsheviks had their first battle with the Nazis.

Mogilev (Mahiloŭ) oblast

Flag of the Mahiloŭ oblast, approved in 2003 by the provincial łukashist administration. The flag is based on the Russian occupational Mogilev province arms. According to the administration's logic, the green line should symbolise that Mahiloŭ oblast is a part of Belarus (?)
