| the wooden tiles on the terrace were in poor shape after 12 years of intensive use. but replacing them was not so simple. first the old ones had to be removed. every single plant, table, chair etc.. had to be moved. all the cobble stones around the edges had to be cleaned. a whole ecosystem of bugs, larvae and slugs was roughly disturbed... then the old tiles were piled up in stacks and carried down the stairs. |

| this time we bought tiles made of bangkirai (a tropical species). after having laid them all down and putting back everything into place we were rewarded with the most beautiful weather - allowing us to even enjoy dinner outside in the beginning of april. | ||||||||||||||
