Did you know that Morrow County was formed on February 16, 1885. and
that it used to be Umatilla county. The elevation is different in a lot
of ways in Morrow County. There are mountain tops and lots of trees in the
blue mountains and then all the way down to the Columbia River where it is not
very high. It is a very cool County and is one of the best counties in
the whole USA. Heppner is the county's seat and is a very good little
town. There are not too many fun things to do in the town hunting and fishing. It is very fun though. In Heppner about
one-hundred years ago there was a flood in the town and
it destroyed many homes and killed a lot of people. It was a decent town
size for way back then and lots of people had to go to the town for
shipping and getting supplies. When the flood came, it was a very bad
thing for the people. Many people left the town to go to other
places. Heppner would be a lot bigger if the town would have been stopped
and the flood would not of occured.
Morrow County consists of towns like Irrigon and
Heppner, Ione, Boardman, and Hardman. The towns are very small in
size. But they are great places to stay. All the towns consist of not very
many people.
Morrow County was one of the biggest counties in the state and produced
a lot of money out of the people. Lots of people loved the little
communtites back then and I wish they still would. Morrow County now
though is one of the biggest drug dealing areas in the land. In places
like Irrigon and Boardman there are a lot of drug deals going down but,
over in Ione, Heppner, and Hardman there aren't very many people
that do drugs. Ione is another good town in the county and has lots of
loving and carring people that live there.
