| Cadets will be issued all items necessary to participate in the JROTC program. All uniforms and text books issued to the students are the property of the JROTC Department and will be treated as such. Students must take necessary steps to care for and properly maintain all items provided for their use. Uniforms will be issued by the Military Property Custodian and records will be maintained of the issue to each cadet. The parent(s) or guardian must assume responsibility for the items issued by any loss/damaged item will have to be replaced by student/parent. This measure protects the interests of the school board in case of loss or damage through neglect. At the beginning of the school year, students will be issued their uniforms by the LET level they start beginning with the LET-4 cadets. Cadets will be sized and fitted. Any item not avaliable for the cadet will be requisitioned or a suitable substitute will be tailored to fit at no expense to the cadet. During the year, whenever items become unserviceable through fair wear and tear or growth of the cadet, the items will be exchanged. Uniforms are required to be worn on Wednesday of each week and on special occasions or ceremonies as needed. All cadets will wear the uniform on those days unless otherwise notified or instructed by the JROTC Staff. Failure to wear the uniform as required will result in an assessment of 15 demerits on uniform day and 15 demerits the next day if again not worn. Continued failure to wear the uniform as required will result in failure of the course and loss of credit for JROTC. When the uniform is worn, it will be worn complete to include the headgear and all authorized insignia, name tag, and awards/badges. AT NO TIME WILL PARTS OF THE UNIFORM BE WORN WITH CIVILIAN CLOTHING. CIVILIAN CLOTHING WILL NOT BE WORN WITH OR BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE UNIFORM. Open-toed shoes, sandals, or tennis shoes are not authorized for wear with the uniform. UNIFORM SHIRTS AND SOCKS CAN BE WASHED. UNIFORM JACKETS, TROUSERS/SLACKS, AND SKIRTS WILL BE DRY CLEANED ONLY. REPEAT, DRY CLEANED ONLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Washing of these items will cause damage by shrinkage and dry or steam ironing will burn the materials. If these items are damaged, they will be at the expense of the student/parent/guardian. |
