This is a hint file for the "Giri Giri Telephone Call" Japanese 
adult Windows anime game from Mysty. I'm giving this the short 
names "Telcall", "TELHWIN" and "TELHDOS"; the last two are the 
directory names for the Windows and DOS versions as supplied to 
me. This is classified as an ADV or AVG (adventure game), 5.6 MB 
compressed, 9.6 MB uncompressed. No saved game, CG file or 
descriptions from anyone else, sorry!
The Windows version alone is 2.1 MB ZIPped, 6.9 MB uncompressed. 
Most of the space is for the 16 .BMP omake files.

Li Sun had NOTHING to say about this game when I checked on 03 
January 2000.

An aside on Japanese culture, or at least my limited 
understanding of it:
"Giri" used in the title appears to be the same word as a 
Japanese concept of self-sacrificing pursuit of another's 
happiness. So maybe this game is about a guy who -DOESN'T- get 
laid but makes some girls happy.

The game is distributed as either a ZIP file of just the Windows 
9x (can't test 3.x anymore, sorry!) version, or of both Windows 
and DOS plus the omake files. It is definitely for Japanese 
Windows 9x, but will run under American Windows 98SE. I'm not 
sure if it's usable under Windows 3.x without NJWIN (Windows 9x 
only) or a Japanese version of Windows 3.x. It comes with 3 
directories: TELHWIN, TELHDOS and OMAKE. Run TELCALL.EXE in 
TELHWIN for the Windows version, and probably GOTH.BAT in 
TELHDOS for the DOS one (it locked up my Windows 98SE, so I don't 
know for sure). There are 16 .BMP files in the OMAKE directory, 
all black and white outlines for pictures in the game, probably 
original sketches that were colored later.

The Windows game displays only some of the text as Japanese with 
NJWIN; just the 3-item menu that appears during a girl or the 
photoshop - everything else is the usual "|?" stuff.
Sound support is automatic (.MID files) for the Windows version. 
Unknown sound in the DOS version - it locked up in Windows 98SE 
when I tried GOTH.BAT.
Graphics are 640*400 256-color VGA. Keyboard and mouse supported, 
although the mouse takes precedence over the arrow or numeric 
keypad keys at menus. I couldn't find any way to make the text go 
faster while playing - you just have to wait until the pointer 
turns from a standard "slim" arrow to a "fat" one with a heart 
shape at the far end, then click again to advance (no keyboard 
keys work here apparently). The only menu functions are Game/Exit 
(Alt-F4), Music (7 choices), and Help/About.

As far as gameplay goes, just work your way down the main menu 
one girl at a time (there are 5 options, the first 3 are girls). 
For each one, you will keep clicking the mouse between menu 
choices. So far all those have been only 3 choices, the first one 
advances (BUT WAIT!), the second one seems to turn on the 
photoshop for that situation (make sure you double-click, so it 
shows you the first option selected again), and the third one may 
turn off the photoshop for that situation or do nothing (I can't 
tell). Eventually she masturbates enough, and back to the main 
menu you go...
The first girl is phone sex. The second girl has fun with a box 
of sex toys. The third girl, this one in a sailor suit, is again 
phone sex - one time actually with the phone!

Apparently no way to save the game!
The fourth option on the main menu is a photoshop of sorts: the 3 
menu choices are backward, forward, to main screen. You have to 
save a screen by selecting the second of three options during the 
3 girls, then it will show up here. The fifth and last option on 
the main menu shows you a bunch of text, and again puts you back 
to the main screen.

The game puts a TELCALL.INI in your WINDOWS directory. To see all 
the pictures in the photoshop, find "Flag=" (not difficult, as 
the file should be only 2 lines long) and set the next 64 
characters to ALL "P", while you're NOT playing the game. Then 
start the game again, and the photoshop will have everything in 
the game in it. If everything is "A" or invalid, you get some 
error text and no pictures when you start the photoshop. However, 
even if properly done, the photoshop won't show a few things from 
the game, e.g. the "tube" and the first 3-finger rub animation 
for the first girl. Note that the third girl in the main menu 
shows up second in the photoshop, and vice versa. (Actually not 
all the "P" characters are needed, but it doesn't hurt.)
