"Noctropolis" is a graphic adventure game from Electronic Arts circa 
1995 (same time as "Immoral Cumbat" which I recently lambasted). This 
game has "mature" graphics and subject matter, but didn't go all the 
way over to "adult" and so managed to piss off or disappoint just 
about everybody. Available in lots of bargain bins lately.

There are at least 3 very good walkthroughs out there already for this 
game, so I won't bother telling you how to make your way through it. 
My advice for "Noctropolis" is:
1. Like I said above, "mature" but only a little bit of "adult". If 
   seeing one girl's tits, and a demon-posessed nun moving around in 
   lingerie, is enough for you then this will be just your speed. 
   But you may be turned off by the "Master Macabre" sequences - 
   significant gore in a few spots.
2. I had a lot of trouble getting this game to play under Windows 98SE 
   with FAT32 on my hard drives. It wasn't intended to be a Windows 
   game anyway, but I couldn't even get a DOS boot disk to work for 
   me. After wrestling with the install procedure, I finally was able 
   to get it to run from a DOS command line (run DARK.EXE on your 
   hard drive if you want to hear voice) but it still crashed a few 
   times.
3. If the game crashes when you try to scroll the city map up, try 
   following the walkthroughs EXACTLY. You may have to do something 
   else where you are, or go to another location instead of where 
   you're trying to go.
