This is a hint/walkthrough file for the Japanese Windows adult anime game "Muku" (Purity), which was 4 1.44 Mb floppy disks worth of ZIP files, obtained from Scream's site back in 1998. Distributed by the warez & courier group Avalon, who calls it "Purity" and says there are 5 disks although I only have 4. Original author is "Nikukyuu", (c) 1996, website at http://www.alpha-jp.co.jp/~nikukyuu/ Li Sun has a saved game file for Muku, and said: A girl went to work for our guy to pay her family debt. Our guy already has a butler (male), secretary (female), and maid (young female). He can train the new girl to be a maid, secretary, slave or fun object. What she does when she pay off her debt depends on how he had treated her. Bit strange that the happy ending is faster to get than the normal ending. Oh, this game is another simulation game like Meido Monogatari (Maids' Story). [Li Sun's save file may be missing one picture, but he includes the other data files you might need if your copy isn't set up as if somebody has played at least one game and saved it already.] The AVALON.NFO says you: "click and see the girls. You'll train the girl and finally she will be your slave. You can also rename all the *.cgf files to *.bmp and you can see all the sex pix! Need FAKECD and setup it and run." (See below regarding FAKECD) This is basically a "bring-up" simulation where you can have H with a girl you're training and 2 others. The 2 other girls in the house are named Maria (blonde with a tan) and Isabel (long silver hair), and there's even a butler-looking guy named Sebastian (no, you don't do H with him!). I'm going by the names of the graphics files to get these character names. You can apparently change two names in game setup, probably what the game calls you and the girl being trained. Game runs fine under Windows 98SE (website says it should work under Windows 3.1 & 95), although a Japanese text display driver like NJWIN is helpful (necessary to read the Japanese, otherwise you can just muddle through counting menu entries like I do sometimes). All the graphics are really .BMP files (they're just named .CGF - you can rename them to make it easier to view), so there really is no need for a photoshop patch, but I've got one anyway so you can play with the girl's outfits and lingerie. Some graphic viewer programs can correctly display the .CGF files even if you don't rename them - I have 2 here already. Playing the game is also not necessary, but I'll do what I can below. Game requirements are under 5.0 Mb for the compressed ZIP or RAR files, and 40.0 Mb for the uncompressed game files! Mouse required, sound card recommended. 640*480 256 colors for graphics, although the H pictures are only 640*400. There are a lot of girl's outfits and miscellaneous images used by the game, in various sizes, that can be seen with a graphics viewer. There are graphics files in the game's main directory, the Anime subdirectory (girl's daily activities animations), the Fuku subdirectory (girl's outfit overlays), and the Window subdirectory (misc. game screen elements). The music and sound effects (no H or voice, sorry) are .WAV and .MID files in the Sound subdirectory. All saved game and photoshop files are in the Access subdirectory. More on those below. While there is a SETUP.EXE, the copy that I got was able to run MUKU.EXE pretty well. The only problem that I noticed was during the actual play of the game, where the text didn't seem to want to advance. Sometimes it just sat there, other times it flipped through really fast, for no apparent reason. I tried running SETUP.EXE once, and it hung up. Since the game seems to work as is except for the text advance problem, and I don't intend on really playing it, I'm not going to investigate further. Maybe you really do need FAKECD to get SETUP to work, and maybe setting up the game properly for your system will avoid the text advance problem. But like I said, I'm not bothering. When you start the game by running MUKU.EXE, click on the large paw print after the noise, or in the middle of the window if you don't want to wait. Either way, you get to a main menu with 8 options. From top to bottom, these are: Load Saved Game Start New Game (have to choose values for 5 things: 2 names, 2 dates and a blood type, then hit the Begin [left] or Cancel [right] button) CG (photoshop) Jukebox (choose one of the 14 MIDI files to play, double-click on it or the OK [left] button, hit Exit [right] button to leave) Music ON/OFF setting Sound Effects ON/OFF setting several boxes of Japanese text, possibly advice for Windows settings Exit Game (Yes/No) Since I can't read Japanese, I'll let you figure out how to play the game, and just move on to the photoshop. Let's starts with the 4 choices at the top of the CG dialog box. These are: Girl's outfits Game images including H Girl's lingerie Maria, Isabel & Sebastian in outfits The buttons at the bottom of the dialog box are Show [left] and Exit [right]. Choose one of the 4, then double-click on an entry in the middle (or left-click on it then on Show) to see it in the game's graphics screen area. You can move the dialog box around your screen if it's in the way. The two categories on the left interact; the outfit selection is what she's wearing as clothes, and the lingerie is what she has on underneath. In some cases, the lingerie selection will be completely or partially visible, but with some outfits you can't tell the difference. Her "naked" outfit is the last one (if you have the complete list enabled) in both categories. I thought the vibrator control in a garter (one up from bottom in lingerie category) had the most interesting interactions with the girl's outfits; there are many reasonable outfits where you can still see both the garter and the ooze running down her leg! There are a few glitches, like the bunny outfit with the vibrator, but it's fun to play with anyway. To patch Access/MEMORY2.DAT, which is 56 ($38) bytes long, change all the bytes to $01 with your binary/hex file editor. That turns on all the CG H pictures and outfits. You might not be able to access the CG until you have started a game at least once and saved it. Not a bad game for H graphics, but I'm sure it would be more fun if I could read Japanese. I'd rather play "The Maid's Story" in English than wrestle with this game. If you have anything to add to this file, let me know.
