This file is for the English/Italian/French/German (although still best played in Japanese) release from Hobibox titled "LoveLoveShow!" It contains some game operating advice, photoshop patches, and a mini-review. Before buying or playing "LoveLoveShow!", you should read the review found at J-Mate: http://www.jmate.com/ I'll let you find it in there, rather than give a link to a PHP page that could easily change. I agree with that review, except that luckily for me, the music didn't work under Windows XP, and I found it annoying that a girl "winning" meant you got to see pictures of her being abused in the Gallery. Note too, that Kirara has only 1 H image instead of the usual 2, and while the box says all characters are aged 18 or older, I have some doubts about kawaii Kirara. Also, you should read the limited documentation (in English and Italian) available at: http://www.hobibox.com/love/ The "original" Japanese game played without background music under Windows XP for me, because somehow CD-audio wasn't being requested properly through the MCI API. It was fine under Windows ME though. Right-click during the story segments (Japanese or unreadable text in a window at the bottom of the screen) to remove the window for a full- screen image. The file that records your progress in the game is GAME\SAVE0000.DAT. Unfortunately, I accidentally discovered that the "Unistall" (sic) option wipes out ALL the files in the GAME folder, but doesn't remove the folder itself; annoying and strange. So, it took me longer than expected to create a photoshop (Gallery in this case) patch for this game. I actually had to play through the entire game like a normal person, because every time I thought I had the photoshop codes worked out, some feature of the game wouldn't work. Anyway, the instructions for a photoshop patch are below. Game A is a "Concentration" puzzle; flip over matching pairs to remove them. Each round you solve, it gets tougher, until the last one you have only 10 tries; you have to be persistent and lucky to finish that one. When you complete a round, you get an image or 2; complete them all to get a slide show with a "Thank You" at the end. If you haven't finished them all, choose "Continue" to resume where you left off. Partway through playing the Game A, I got a request to find TRACK02.WAV for the game; any file that I picked was enough to let it continue. Obviously, one of the music files was left out when the game was made, and insufficient testing was done. Game B is a "15" puzzle, and each time you solve it you get to see one H image, a non-H one, then the same H one again. Luckily, if the puzzle is accidentally scrambled so you can't solve it (exactly 2 pieces need to be interchanged), just do the best you can until the "bad" pieces are near the bottom right corner where the "space" goes, and the game will recognize the problem and consider itself solved. When you've gotten all of the images, or gotten bored, you can click on the "Continue" under Game B to see the images you've gotten so far. If you haven't gotten them all, the game will start at that stage. The pieces move rather slowly on this one, and you can't make a whole row move at once, just one piece into the hole at a time. After several crashes under XP, I also think that you should wait until a piece stops moving before you click on the next one. Great, it makes a slow and boring process even slower. Game C is another "15" puzzle, but nothing seems to happen after you solve it. At least the tiles move quickly on this one. The "Bonus" item on the menu is just some CG from "How about a luv sweet tart", a game that Hobibox Europe plans to release on DVD in early 2003. Click on the "Coming Soon" to go to the Hobibox website. The BONUS folder on the CD contains some images and demos. Unfortunately, the demo program in the ALCHEMIC folder (which I assume is for the long-quiet "Alchemic Girl" release) doesn't work. The GOKUDEMO.AVI is a promo movie for Viper Paradice has OK sound volume under Windows ME but no sound under my Windows XP Pro. And the M1.EXE, which you'd assume is a demo of Viper M1, is just an animated non-interactive movie (you can click to skip voice samples but sometimes it hangs after doing that); the *.MID files aren't part of the demo and I guess are just there for you to listen to if you love game music. There are a few images in the GAME2 directory, but they're just the backgrounds for the "Concentration" game and some mad/sad girls for (I guess) when they lose. Photoshop patch: Make sure the original game is installed, and you know where on your hard drive(s) the files are. Start up the original game, then Quit. Make sure a GAME\SAVE0000.DAT file was created where you installed the game. Make a backup copy of it, in case you make a mistake, or you can try copying the file from the game CD-ROM. Using a hex editor, modify only the following locations (all values are in hexadecimal): addresses 04,18,28,38 contents 80 address 08 contents FF address 10 contents 90 address 20 contents 50 address 30 contents 40 address 88 contents C0 Then save the modified file, and you should have all girls available in the Gallery, and the Special command will work. For the uncensored games, look for the files FS1 and FS2 in your C:\ directory. If they aren't there, you can create them with Notepad or Wordpad - any text file editor - but NOT Word or anything that allows special formatting of text. Change or create FS1 with the contents "888fin" and save it; file length should be only 6 bytes. Take out any extra lines or use a hex editor to do it if your text editing doesn't work. Similarly, the file FS2 should be "finpxcxx", total 8 bytes. Pete's mini-review: With more translation to get the Japanese game story/dialogue, and the data on the girls, this would have been an excellent product. In the state it's in, this is only a half-hearted attempt at a port to English. I feel sorry for the French and Germans, who get nothing but some text on the back of the box to guide them. If you have anything to add to this file, let me know. Peter Karsanow - bishoujo.helper[AT}sbcglobal{DOT)net http://www.geocities.com/hentaihelper/p_hgames.htm
