This is a hint and patch file for the "Love Potion" adult Windows 
anime game from C's ware. It is distributed on CD-ROM by Himeya Soft 
and others in English, and probably originally released in Japanese as 
"Etsuraku no Gakuen" (Campus of Pleasures? Pleasure School?). This 
file will only discuss the English version.
The review on Anime Densetsu (http://www.densetsu.com) for 
"Enigmatic School" appears to be for the Japanese version of this 
game - it shows Hiromi and even the same Japanese symbols for the 
title!

GAME CONTENT WARNING:
In addition to "straight" anime sex, this game contains lots of 
lesbian action - incestuous ones even! Better not play this one if 
you think teachers shouldn't be screwing the students! A little bit 
of enemas, anal sex, S&M, "golden showers" too.
At least there's no tentacles or censorship...

The game runs under Windows 9x (I have 98) with automatic mouse, 
graphics and music. You can set a menu option to speed up text 
display: move the mouse to the upper edge of the screen to make the 
menu bar visible, choose Options, make sure "Delayed Text" is NOT 
checked. There is a Windows help file included, and between 
that and the small folder in the game's plastic case, you can find 
out most of what you need to know to play the game. But ignore 
the part in the folder called "About CDDA": there is only 1 track on 
the CD, all the music is MIDI files buried somewhere in the POTION.SCA 
file. And there are only 2 Windows wallpapers on the CD in the BMP 
directory, just showing the 2 girls from the cover.

The voices in the game are Japanese; I suppose these would really be 
useful to somebody who knew the language well enough. The WAV files 
for these, which I expect are also buried in the file POTION.SCA, are 
probably what helps make the game about 360 MB on the CD.

The game is basically a reasonably long multiple-choice text adventure 
like you've seen before: guy in a school with lots of girls/women, he 
fucks each one at least once. The responses to the choices don't seem 
to ever let you go the wrong way. "Yuichi Sakuma" (the only male 
character, i.e. YOU) has sex with all the females (except Kyoko), or 
watches several of them get it on. But about the only one of the 
females that might not get pregnant from him is Yoko.

Like other C's ware games (see "Amy's Fantasies"), you can save your 
progress in 3 slots, but the game doesn't restore you exactly back to 
where you saved, usually to the point where you entered a particular 
screen or location. The saved data all goes in a "Love Potion.dat" 
file in your WINDOWS directory, but you can change that if necessary. 
The game creates a Windows 9x Registry key for both C's ware, and 
under that, Love Potion. That's where the game settings and the 
location of the saved games are kept. I think the game is hardwired to 
grab game graphics and similar data only from the CD, and only checks 
the Registry for the settings and where the saved games (the .DAT 
file) are.

Once you go through the game completely, the "Extra" option will turn 
on in the main game menu (Begin, Continue, Extra). That's the 
photoshop, with a music jukebox and H graphics slideshow.
The letter mentioned at the end (given by Hiromi to Yuichi) is shown 
during the end credits, but the translation of it that used to be 
posted at the Himeya Soft site (http://shop.himeya.com/) is gone since 
they updated recently.

Kyoko Himuro and Hiromi Matsuno apparently both show up in the game 
"Eve Burst Error" too.

The photoshop (Extra) flag is somewhere in the file "Love Potion.dat". 
All I can tell you at the moment is that changing the first byte from 
01 to 00 disabled all the saved games!
Since you can blast through this game in a few hours and get ALL the 
pictures turned after you play it once, I'm not going to worry about 
not generating a photoshop patch for this game. There is only one 
ending (confirmed by Himeya Soft), and (I think) no way to miss any 
of the H pictures.

Pete's mini-review: The translation is pretty good, but towards the 
end of the game there were more and more errors - like "president" 
instead of "principal". Game includes very clear Japanese voice and 
some sound effects for when the ladies speak or ... There are 2 extra 
.BMP images on the CD that you can use as wallpaper, but they aren't 
H, just based on the 2 girls on the cover of the game package. Worth 
buying if you must have every H game that's released in English, but 
practically no replay value; this fell between "Immoral Study #1" and 
"Amy's Fantasies" as far as I was concerned.
