"The Crystal Skull" is an interactive multimedia adventure in the same genre as "Myst". That said, I found it in the bargain bin at a software store for $5. Not much considering it's from Maxis (the Sim*** people), comes on 3 CDs, and stars Edward James Olmos as the only Shaman with a mustache I've ever seen. The only reason I'm writing this is to let people know about a bug I found that will let you skip a rather useless portion of the game. It lets you get as many "Eagle Knight" costumes as you like. While one is necessary to continue in the game, two will let you avoid a time- wasting trading sequence (at least according to the descriptions of it I saw in the online hints) that the game puts you through to compensate for only having one costume. Here's what you do: After you jump on the Eagle Knight and take his costume, either go back into the closet, or back away to the hallway, then come back to the view of the closet door showing the body lying there on the floor. Although it doesn't show it on him, you can grab another costume (listen for the sound the game makes every time you get an item). Check your inventory to be sure. I did this several times, and went through the remainder of the game with 2 extra costumes, even after I sold the medallion from one to the guy in the green loincloth, the costume to somebody else, and a second complete costume to the boatman. I also had no need for the cup or the earring (earplug) items. This type of action was found to only work with the costume, not any other item (like the bananas). Strange things seen in the game: -- If you get past the causeway guard, and aren't stopped by Snake Skirt, and you try to walk to the left on the causeway, you just appear in jail with no explanation. -- When crossing the "lakeside" screen first time from left to right, the guy's "beeper" goes off! -- When crossing the "lakeside" screen first time from right to left, he stops and dips his foot in the water. -- When you win the ballgame with the Lords of Death, then walk to the left, you appear back in the surface world, and the Shaman appears before you. His mouth moves, but no sound comes out. He's supposed to say "go to the Palace" or something like that. Hints not in online hints: -- When in the swamp, you will stop in the middle and be bothered by some mosquitoes. Move pointer above head and grab them. Use them twice later. -- When you first go west at bottom of World Tree, you are in the dark. Grab the lights to get a firefly you will need later.
