Background Story:
Super Gundam was originally a prototype general purpose mobile suit designed by the Titans. The AEUG, who were suspicious of the Titans developing new mobile suits eventually stole the 3 prototype RX-178 MK II's. Though the suit was highly advance with its "movable frame", it soon could not compete with the Titan's high performance mobile suits. To fix this problem, the AEUG asked Anaheim Electronics to build the G-Defenser, a suport fighter that could combine with the RX-178 MK II to become the G-Flyer or Super Gundam. This combination allowed the outclassed MK II to use more powerful weaponary such as the long beam rifle. The G-Flyer also allowed the MK II to fight effectively in Earth's atmosphere. Super Gundam was later critically damaged in combat.
