I just received an invitation to my brother Jeff's wedding, and I couldn't be happier for him than I am right now! The wedding will take place on July 7 in Denver, and Jeff is getting married to his longtime girlfriend-turned-fiancee Alicia Sinclair. The two met when Jeff moved to Denver, and they have been practically inseparable ever since.

Jeff and Alicia have been engaged since last summer, and they will get married in a church, which I never got to do when I married Jennifer back in 1992 (August 8, to be exact). Jennifer and I were married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator, with our old college friends serving as guests. I've made up for it by going to Vegas every five years, which reminds me, it's time to go back again! But enough about me...

For the wedding, I accepted Jeff's offer to make me his best man, because after all, I'm his big brother, and I want to make sure he finds happiness in his life. Ashley will be a junior bridesmaid at the wedding, and Jennifer is taking care of the gift registry. All in all, Jeff's wedding will be the big family event that mine wasn't, although Jennifer and I are still together, and that's all that matters, isn't it?

We will drive to Denver on July 1, and return to Seattle the following Sunday. During this special week, I will get to know Alicia better, and meet some of her friends. Jeff has told me that they will continue to live in Denver, because they love it there.
