the thalidomid case - EU and uncontrolled chemicals

the thalidomid case, EU and uncontrolled chemicals.

when pregnant woman started taking the thalidomid-pill, one discovered that about 10.000 children had become crippled or deform.

in 1959 one began to recieve reports, about deformed children. yet another chemical, that had not been tested well enough, had caused great damage. and created anothe big scandal in the medical business.

in the european union one produces even more chemicals, that are not tested well enough. and only are tested by the firm itself. one simply can not manage to control, all the new chemicals, that emerge on the market.

the blacklisting in EU is not very strict. in denmark they have a much stricter blacklisting policy. this strict policy now must retreat to the advantage of the harmonizing to EU, of all the rules in Denmark.

one do not lift the blacklisting-level. one lowers it. with the great risc, that new thalidomid-cases emerge.
