the film - oproeret i aadalen - by bo widerberg, is about a strike in sweden problably in the thirties. who got out of hand.

the workers did not demand a raise, but the employers demanded a cut in wages to half.

this was completly unreasonable, and leed to a strike. the workers arranged a demonstration, and police were used against them. and shot many of the demostrators.

that is what happens when the unions have too little influence. the more we become part of EU, the more the unions are limited. for exampel the right to strike, the workers rights and the possibilities for collective bargaining are limited.
