he studied law in london. then he took to bombat,
to serve as a lawyer.

mental resistans against the tyrans.
he went back to india, where he became on of
the leaders of his political party.
in 1919 he started a disobedient-campaigne
against the british.
gandhi argued for passiv resistans against
the british colonial empire. non-violence was his
basical political strategy.
ghandi was jailed several times, for his ideas.
and in prison he began a hungerstrike.
he was so important, that his death, the british
could not risk.
in 1930 gandhi arranged his famous salt-march.
as a reaction to englands unreasonable salt-tax.
the march gathered many thousands of people. the britsh
arrested about 90.000, and killed over 10.000.
with that the british reputation was ruined
for ever.

demanded the british out of india. his goal was
inidias political freedom.

negotiations, of which gandhi was an important part.
pakistan wanted a split india, which gandhi opposed.
civilwar-like conditions arised. gandhi said he would
hungersrike until the fighting stopped.
