she is educated at the university of oslo.

she has been a representativ of the Nordic Council.

she became minister for the environment in 1974 for arbejderpartiet in norway.

and from 1981 - 86 she was the first female prime minister.

she was a great norwegian EU-sceptic, who went against membership of EU.

she leed the environment-comission in the UN. and that resulted in the famous report brundtlandrapport.

at a certain time (under hard pressure) she changed her mind, and became an EU-supporter. and got the name YES-queen. she coud not prevent though, the norwegian NO to EU in 1994.

from 1989 - 96 she was prime minister for a minority-government. in 1996 jagland took over after her.

in 1998 she became the leader of WHO under UN.
