Entry for December 31, 2008
As the old year draws to a close, I start thinking about next year. No, I don't do resolutions, which are just depressing. I do make goals and things to strive for next year. I also like to look back and see what I achieved or what significant things happened.

This year, I did more face painting and built my business up more.

I gained another grand child in July, a girl. Another grand child turned one. I am making more art and plan to put some work in an exhibit.

Next year, I want to improve even more on my face painting and my craft. I want to retire from the classroom and teach part time to home schoolers in their supplementary courses. I want to volunteer on a regular basis at the local pregnancy resource center and give more of myself instead of just money. Of course, money is also needed. Now that gas is down from the high of $4.00 a gallon to a reasonable 1.59, we should have money to spare. Right?

I want to continue going to art exhibits in Miami and the local art museum. I want to go to the zoo more often and enjoy God's glorious creatures. This weekend I am going to take advantage of my free pass to the museums. I plan to spend more time with grandchildren and do things with them on a regular basis. We enjoyed going Back to Bethlehem with the 3 and 8 year old. Things that don't cost money are always good.

Finally, I want to read through the Bible again and be more consistent with my devotions. Its important to stay with the priorities, since we never know how long we are given. I want to be available for important opportunities while I am still young enough to enjoy them.

Thats it. Happy New Year, which is about 30 minutes away. But at my age, they just blend into another year.

I think we both did quite well last year, especially considering how bad everyone thought it was. On the other hand, if the first two weeks of January are any indication of the year to come, 2009 is really going to suck ;0
