Thoughts from your favorite blonde...
Another conference, another tote bag.

I spent last weekend in Orlando at the lovely hotel in the Mall. We had an art teacher's conference, which is always fun because you get new ideas for the classroom, workshops, and most of all, freebies from the vendors! I had to help at the table for our county, so I was there at the right time when some of the vendors were cleaning up before packing it in. I even got a some red Snazaroo in the large size (retail value about 7.50) Ready for more Spidey masks!

I got some ideas on using colored chalk, apparently dipping or soaking it in sugar water keeps it from flaking off later, but it makes your fingers kind of sticky and you can't really use it later, but the idea is too use it up that day.

You can also paint water bottles with acrylic paint, cut it up and use a heat gun to make Chihuly type sculptures, by putting them in chicken wire armatures.

Very cool.

Saturday night was something of a disappointment. The dinner was changed to dessert and dancing. It was billed as a buffet of appetizers and mouthwatering desserts. We got a tray of cheese and crackers that did not get refilled, and some yummy desserts which included petit fours and cake, but no coffee. Our ticket did get us one drink, but I don't really like wine with cake. Well, there was that water jug in the corner, so it wasn't totally bad. But lets not talk about the D.J. By 9:30, we were in the lobby visiting and discussing what to do next year instead of the "gala".

I did get some nice tote bags from the vendors.

What about the DJ??

So...did you get any nice extras that will be coming to Texas? It's a bit like Santa Claus with his big suitcase of surprises.
