Spring break

I went to the Houston area to visit my daughter and family. I brought my face paints because its important to get practice in whenever possible and the boys don't mind a bit. I did experiment on my daughter, and since she is also artistic, she decided to try her hand on me. She took a little longer than I did, but I thought it looked pretty nice. I ended up with under the sea on one side and flowers on the other, topped with sun, moon, stars and the kitchen sink. Okay, maybe not the sink, but not bad considering I only brought eight colors. Next time I will also bring the white, cause you really need white and black for contrast.
We also shopped at thrift stores, visited the Blue Bell ice cream factory in Brenham, (also known as the Blue Bell creamery) which sounds better than factory. Afterward they give you a container of ice cream. You only have to choose from about 20 flavors. Yum! this has to be about the best ice cream in the world! It tastes better than homemade. Granted, it runs about $6. a gallon, but hey, thats equal to about one drink at a restaurant or one fast food dinner. And it lasts longer too.
Meantime, back home, I had a chance to do some face painting at the Walk for Life. I got pledges of $1025. and $54.76 in donations while I painted at the Walk site. I painted for life, as I didn't get to the walking part, but I walk to school a lot. I had a pretty long line, and gave out a few business cards, so hopefully I can get some gigs over the summer. Check out those glitter tattoos, people! Waterproof, and great for pool parties!
Anyhow, about one more month of school and then get to those projects that need finishing around the house. With a few parties, I could hire someone to do the repairs and get rid of the bats.
Four or five more sessions of art classes and it will be June!
