Still Walking
I walked to school again this morning. I was intending to walk every day, but wimped out on Tuesday and Wednesday. (Looked like rain)

So I stalwartly set out today with bag and umbrella, just in case. It still takes me about 15 minutes, but the weather is very nice. When I left school today, it had rained already, was looking cloudy and one of the teachers had her little blackberry type device in her hand and said "This is whats coming". It had a radar map of the state with bands of red and yellow. I think that means lots of rain. I decided I had time to make it, as it was only drizzling. I set off at a goodly pace, anticipating bad weather. With my trusty parasol over head (a la Amelia Peabody) but in reality a golf umbrella, I set a faster pace than usual. One of the teachers offered me a ride, but I declined as I was practically home. At least thats what I told her. I had just left school.

I made it home with enough time to walk the dog before the rain was worse, so my timing was good. I plan to walk again tomorrow, and by this weekend I may have to break down and buy gas again so I can go to the mall and get my free underwear from Victorias Secret, and return books to the library.

I will be doing childrens church for March, so I am not sure about walking to church, since there is a group that likes to eat out afterwards, and that would mean bumming a ride every time.

I will probably drive since we lose an hour Saturday night and I will be adjusting my body to time change. Ugh. When the choir director mentioned the time change at practice, there was a collective groan. He did mention since its earlier now, it will no longer interfere with Easter in the future.

So, tell me, why can't we fix one date for Easter, like we do with Christmas? Easter is a religious observance, so why do we establish the date using some pagan time cycle? Why not just pick a date and go with it?
