Doing the wave for Dr. Ron

I decided to do my thing for Ron Paul Sunday and helped out with sign waving on the corner by the Wellington Mall. When I got there about 12:30, there was just one guy with his 10 ft. banner on two sticks. He had one other yard sign which I took and stood on the side of the road, so people coming could see me. After about an hour or so, one other lady came and took up a spot on the other side of the road.
Over all, we had good responses. Many people waving back at me, honking, and a few students who probably couldn't believe what their art teacher was doing at the side of the road.
I spent my time talking to myself, doing the Miss America wave, smiling and alternating hands to hold the sign. Occasionally, I would use both hands to hold it up over my head or just block the sun. The weather was not bad, sunny, warm, breezy, sometimes the clouds hid the sun.
I also spent some time praying for various people, the church, Christians in other countries. Especially when I would feel tired, or my muscles would argue with me, then I would think about how bad people have it in other countries where they don't have the freedom to express their beliefs or faith. Anytime I think I have it bad, I remember that there are others being beaten, tortured, imprisoned or even killed, because they dare to be a Christian.
Okay, so politics is not always about faith, but if we don't have some one different in office, our country will definitely slide downward as far as freedoms and finances.
I hesitate to think what will happen if we get a Democrat in office, but God is Sovereign, so it will still be under His control. Perhaps it will be a catalyst to turn this country around back to what is truly important. Perhaps people will not realize their freedom is being stolen from them and they are being forced to pay for it besides.
A little like the frog in the kettle.
Meantime, between meeting students in the grocery store and being seen at the side of the road with my Ron Paul sign and smile on my face, I hope to stir up some conversations. Good ones, I hope.
