Why teachers don't shop right after school
It was Friday, I left school just as soon as I could. Decided to stop at Publix and pick up a few items that I needed. Of course, I probably saw at least three families of students with about 10 kids total, all of whom I teach. So nice to hear my name mentioned, "look, there's my art teacher" and "Hi, Mrs. Bulten".
One mother even told her son not to talk to teachers out side of school. I think thats what she said.
One of the families was right behind me in the check out line, another was one lane over. The mom was very friendly and told me to have a nice weekend.
I am not sure if anyone noticed the bottle of wine on my lane.
I was prepared to defend my self if anyone mentioned it and tell them I was going to a party.
That or I had a long week and needed to go home and drink myself into oblivion.
But no one noticed, or pretended not to notice.
On the bright side, if they didn't like me, they wouldn't talk to me. So it must mean that they like me and are pleased to see me outside of school too.
