Hi Hoppers!

Our Halloween trip to the St Louis Park Care Center was great!!  We had lots of 4Hers from the Hoppers, Heelers, and Hoofbeats, with their dogs, rabbits, and hamsters.  The costumes were so much fun.  Click on the Halloween link to see pictures.

Our October meeting was VERY well attended.  We spent time planning things we would like to do in the upcoming year.  Mark Engstrom brought supplies for show boards, so those who didn't already have them could make one.

Agility continues to be a large interest, so we will continue to have practice exercises set up at teach meeting.   Practice time at Octobers meeting was a bit chaotic, so hopefully we will be able to divide into two groups, beginner and intermediate, in the future.

We will be concentrating on training show table skills for November.  In addition to your bunny and treats, please bring your show board or carpet square.  Keep practicing your hand targeting, as it will make posing much easier.

Our next meeting will be November 22 at 7pm at Gethsemane.  In addition to show table training and agility practice, we will be planning our first ever end of the year party for December.  Bring your ideas and suggestions!
See You There!

Hennepin Hoppers is a 4H project club, devoted to the rabbit project.  We meet several times a year to learn about rabbit care, training, showmanship and many other things about our long eared friends.
Most of the members own only one or two rabbits, which are their pets as well as a 4H project.  We have a few members who own more, and breed high quality show rabbits on a limited scale.
Each year, the best rabbits are chosen, at the county fair, to compete at the state fair rabbit show.  The 4Hers compete in Showmanship, Interview, Herdsmanship, and Skillathon as well as showing their rabbits in conformation classes.  In addition, rabbit posters are judged, and their is an opportunity to compete in rabbit bowl.
Rabbits are part of livestock weekend at the fair, and the members have a chance to make lasting friendships with kids from other counties around Minnesota.  All 4H ers live for the four days in the "4H Hilton" on the third floor of the 4H building.  Spending four days in one room with 500 other kids will certainly give you a new perspective!

Buttercup and George investigate the A-Frame

These foot cues can be tricky!
Ok, we can go up, now how do we go down?
All this running and jumping makes me really tired!
George quickly figured out how to hop right through his harness.  There are advantages to being so tiny!
I think I've got it!
Up and over, now, where's the next jump?
But I like the A-Frame, and the plastic is slippery!
Ready for another run?
