S2.3 Identifies and locates technology resources and evaluates them for accuracy and
        suitability.

The World Wide Web is a superhighway of information. As on any highway, there are wrong turns and dead ends. In week five of Exploring New technologies, we were asked to evaluate projects on the web. In this project, I visited and evaluated a few web resources. In evaluating these sites, I used criteria from the rubric developed by Tammy Payton ( n.d.). Along with this, I used my own professional and personal judgment on the ease and effectiveness of sites.
The use of technology resources adds a dimension to learning that can enthrall and excite the many different learners (Laureate Education, Inc. 2004. Program nine). Another bonus to using the internet for student learning is that the new literacys of the 21st Century are put to use (Laureate Education, Inc. 2004. Program seven). Students can gather information through resources that are textual and visual. Learners today require different skills for acquiring information (Thornburg, D., 1996). I as a teacher need to evaluate sites as well as teach students to use the internet effectively.
