Outcome 1.2 Demonstrates continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies

My mission statement says By continuing to advance my knowledge in technology I will provide students with the necessary skills needed in todays technological world (Henely, 2006). As a high performing teacher, I must ensure that my students are prepared for society. Not only must I teach the curriculum, but I must ensure the students success in numerous other areas as well. Providing the students with the knowledge in technology is crucial to their success (Rodriguez, 2000). Teachers must stay abreast of the ever-changing world of technology.
To ensure my growth in technology, I will attend the professional development provided by my school district. I will also actively engage in new ways to better the technology environment in my classroom through my own research and development. Not only will using technology in the classroom expose these resources to the students, but also technology makes lessons more fun, thus stimulating learning (Is Technology, nd). I believe that as a Walden scholarpractitioner, advancing my knowledge in technology will enhance my students and my own experiences in education.
