- Meet the people of THE OUTBACK in their own vast backyard.
- Your Hosts - Anne and Roly Gooding and the staff.
- Central to Longreach and Queensland Rail's Spirit of the Outback long haul Train destination.
- Modern airport facilities close to town and the Hotel. All coaches. Easy access from Landsborough and Matilda Highways.
- Close to all major Longreach attractions. Visit the Stockman's Hall of Fame and the state of the art Qantas Outback Founders' museum or the Pioneer Woolshed. Or enjoy a quiet sunset dinner cruise upon the Thomson River on the Yellow Belly Express or a paddle wheeler.
There's bird life galore and awesome sunsets, bush poetry, singsongs and tall stories and giant fibs.
- Fishing. Depending upon the weather and rainfall, those with the desire will enjoy a little yellowbelly fishing.
- Rooms - 19 motel suites - some with double queens and microwave facilities. All with TV, phones and air conditioning. Beds are very comfy.
- Wheelchair access to some suites. Some have stairs. There are seven hotel rooms and a cabin. The winter season gets busy so it's best to book or phone ahead of your arrival.
- Ample parking.
- As the sign says - You can't get a better/bigger feed 'Roly's Goodings' motto is 'You don't want to look at it on a wall. You want to eat it'.
- All tours and attractions easily arranged.
- No noisy televisions. No juke boxes in the bars. Conversation (rememer that?) is possible and very likely.
- Boutique and quiet poker machine room.
- Everything is on a large scale in the West. Roly's bottle shop is no exception.
- Wine selection. Don't be surprised if you unearth a nice wine at the bottle shop - even if you have to climb over a couple of cartons to get to it.
- Climate - beautiful in winter with very cold nights and a huge sky. Razor sharp clean light. Summer is hot and dry with spectacular summer storms. Be prepared. Mostly excellent condition highways.

It never rains but it pours: Norm and his pet goose paddle home from the pub to feed the chooks.
