rode it down to the dmv for inspection, went well.  the girl doing the inspection did not even notice it was electric!

performance wise, i'm still disapointed.  even after gearing to 35 mph i still needed to use more trottle [amps] than i should have.  next i will strap the laptop to the bike and measure the amps to get a better idea what is going on.  however it did climb hills with out a problem.  worse comes to worse i'll gear it back up to 40-45 mph and just run the motor hard.  it should be ok in stop and go traffic: the motor is rated to handle peak amps for 10 minutes at a time.  maybe i'll add a cooling system to help out.
