James Monroe was introduced to hashish when he was the ambassador to
France and continued to smoke
until he was 73 years old.
Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor and Franklin Pierce smoked hemp with their soldiers.
President Pierce said,
"... hemp was the only good thing about the Mexican War."
