This film was produced in 1942 by the USDA to encourage the cultivation of hemp for use during World War II. During World War II, America's supply of fiber from the East was cut off by the Japanese. In order to meet the fiber needs of the United States, the USDA supported hemp (cannabis sativa) farming as a viable alternative.
Hemp for Victory was discovered by the Institute for Hemp in May 1990.
