·        Passed M.A.(Entire English) securing 58.25% from Gujarat university, Ahmedabad.

·        I have been doing Doctoral Research (Ph.D.) on “Translation of Select Writings of ‘Sundaram’ (T.P.Luhar) from Gujarati into English and an Evaluation of His Literary Art” under the guidance of Shri Daxaben Vamdatt, Head of English Dept.,South Gujarat Uni., Surat and am on the verge of submitting my thesis very soon. In this thesis I have translated Sundaram’s poems and his short stories in addition to a critical discussion of Translation Theory and Practice.

Work experience

 

 

·        I have been serving in Shri G.M.Bilakhia Rofel College of Applied Sciences,Vapi since 6th October, 2000 as a Lecturer of English on permanent basis.

Creative and critical activity

 

·        Research Articles:

·        My research articles titled “Polarity in Female Psyche…” which offer a fresh insight in to the working of women’s minds, their hopes and aspirations, their frustrations and sense of chagrin within restrictive patriarchal social set up, has been published in the renowned literary journal ‘Reflection’. My another article “Desire of the moth for the star…” which analyses the short stories of Shashi Deshpande is due to appear in the same journal.

·        Poems:

·        Couple of my poems namely ‘We, the people’ and ‘To the Tower Clock That Stopped’ have published in the July-September, 2003 issue of “New Quest Two of my poems titled ‘Alchemy of stones’ and ‘Dirge on the Death of a Daredevil’ have been published in the online- offline journal namely “Crimson Feet”. ‘Vascectomized’ and ‘Satisfaction Vicarious’ are selected for publication in the literary journal ‘Poesy’. My poems have been acclaimed for its virtuous and unfeigned rendering of Indian ethos in its stark contemporary context.

·        Translation Work:

·        A part of my research work on ‘Sundaram’, that is the translation of his short story “Bidis”, has been published by renowned Indian English poet Dilip Chitre in the April, 2004 issue of “New Quest”. My translation of Dalpat Chauhan’s story ‘Dar’ as ‘Fear’ has been published in the July-December, 2004 issue of “New Quest”. Apart from my doctoral translation work, I have translated Himanshi Shelat’s short story ‘Sanj No Samay as ‘Eventide’, Nazir Mansuri’s short story ‘Dariyai Machhak as ‘The Sea Hawk’ all of which are going to be published in near future.

·        I am a short story writer and have penned a couple of short stories so far which may appear in print sometime in future.

Community activities

 

·        I have been rendering gratuitous service to Shri Kalyan Banerjee Community College,Vapi, which seek to develop the life skills of those students who could not prosecute with their studies on account of various untoward circumstances.

Extracurricular activities

 

·        I have passed four of Indian Classical Music’s examinations securing first class from Gandharva Mahavidhlaya. Moreover I have the credit of having performed on Akashvani, Ahmedabad and on TARA Gujarati Channel. Moreover I have professional forte in singing and as a result I have done fifty to sixty stage shows.
