Early One Morning

Early one morning when no-one was about
I tiptoed to my window, and stood there, looking out
the flowers and trees were sleeping;
the lake was cold and still
when suddenly a sunbeam came dancing down the hill.
It touched the sleeping flowers
it twinkled on the lake
and all the birds began to sing;
the world was wide awake

This poem is unattributed - I don't know if the author would thank for putting her name here, so I haven't - but we know who it is.......
