Benefits to the State of Ohio in Creating New Legislation
-A positive result of the Federal GI Bill 2.2 million veterans attended college or university. It is estimated that almost half a million of these veterans would not have been able to go to college without the GI Bill. An additional 3.5 million veterans went to vocational schools, 1.5 million veterans got on the job training, and 700,000 more farm training. (Reference A) This is a great example that if Ohio created a "Ohio GI Bill" on a smaller scale than the federal government can really make a difference in promoting education in the state of Ohio and see the benefits as a state not only the individual veteran as well.

-History provides that helping veterans produces better skilled work forces and professionals. Take for example the GI Bill has produced 238,000 teachers; 91,000 scientists; 67,000 doctors; 450,000 engineers and a million assorted lawyers, nurses, artists, actors, writers, and pilots.
(Reference A) This same positive affect can be seen on the state level if the state creates new vet legislation. This will only help Ohio's workforce and economy grow.

-Creating a Ohio GI Bill or program would benefit the state of Ohio with major increases in tax revenue and in the Ohio economy by helping Veterans with college and in return they can make more in salary with a BA Degree.

-By helping Veterans will lower Ohio Poverty level and number of Ohioans on welfare; which will help stimulate economic growth.

-Will lower state unemployment.

-Gives a positive image of the Ohio Government.

-National recognition for creation of said proposed legislation.

-The State of Ohio joins the rest of the Union in helping its State's Veterans.

-Saves the state of Ohio millions of dollars in possible legal fees because the State of Ohio could possibly be sued or challenged in Federal Courts under
United States Code: Title 42: Section: 1983 Civil action for deprivation of rights on the basis that only helping the Ohio National Guard is a violation of the Civil Rights of Active Duty Service Members. (Reference J)
