"Healing Hearts" is The Family's local project in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hertzegovina. Our volunteers answered the appeal of our coleagues in Bosnia and had a team join their ranks for about 6 months during year 2000.

Their programs were performed in refugee centers, orphanages, schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and handicap and deliquesnt centers. Concerts have been organized for UN bases and at town festivals. Distribution of humanitarian aid has been a big part of the work.
When meeting with different people in Bosnian cities it is obvious that having gone through the years of war and turmoil, they have gained valuable experience and a certain maturity. Sad to say, not everybody who survived the war has such positive attitudes; many are troubled, confused or bitter.
People responded well to our personal approach and simple message that, regardless of religious, political or ethnic backgrounds and the turmoil that continues to plague the country, God is love and the best way to change the situation is one heart at a time!
