| 7-20-06 Good News for Education Assistance Program (EAP) reciepients. On July 7, 2006, Governor Edward Rendell signed legislation that will increase EAP funding for part-time students that do not have a bachelor's degree. Part-time tuition costs could be paid 100% for some members based on the number of credits they are taking. Also, the State Board of Governors increased the tuition costs for the state schools, which is EAP funding base, so the EAR full-time funding cap increased 2.7% to $2,519 per semester. The funding levels are listed below. Full-time Grants - 100% of the tuition charged of $2,519, whichever is less per semester. (Full-time students must take 12 or more credits per semester) Part-time Grants for members what do not possess a bachelor's degree - !00% of the tuition or $1639, whichever is less per semester. (Part-time students must be taking 3 to 11 credits per semester) Part-time Grants for members possessing a bachelor's degree - One half of the tuition or $839, whichever is less per semester. (Part-time students must be taking 3 to 11 credits per semester) |
