| The Sign in the Rubble | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To those lost on 9/11, their bereaved and those who labored Two towers that stood for a nations pride Were turned into a rubble of crushed concrete Of truncated, twisted metal and human DNA Of those that once breathed, loved and served there The blood of the innocent and foe were mingled What was the reason or explanation? Where was God? After days of painstaking search a meager hope lighted, When out of the chaos were two beams hoisted In the shape of an ancient symbol sacred Of another bloody day that had darkened That saw One innocent crucified and lifted That blood spilled then became a life source for all And those laboring knew this to be a sign and sighed And the little church next door formerly dwarfed Now stood above dust & debris, its steeple raised proudly As if to say, "Little I looked but I withstood the fury.." Take heed America to the fall of your parthenon Repent of evil in your souls heed your fallen ones Won't you come unto me, my beloved beckons thee, Here you find the shelter you need, I comfort the bereaved Here Jesus is preached and souls will be freed |
