Opening statement: When I first got this game for Christmas with my Gamecube, I didn't know what to think.  It looked so weird.  And I was right, it was weird, but alot of fun.  I mean, Pikmin are little flower creatures that you (space traveler) join forces with to over swarm giant creatures.

Story: The story starts out as you're flying through space and all of a sudden a meteor hits you and you crash land on this weird planet, and realize you only have enough oxygen for 30 days.  Then not to long into the story you come across a small weird looking creature you call "pikmin".  These pikmin help you find and bring back broken parts of your ship so you can go back home.

Gameplay/controls: The gameplay is unique.  You walk around controlling a massive army of plant creatures that you fling onto enemies so they can bang their heads against them.  Going through the game depending on your personality, you seem as either an over protective mother crying as your pikmin babies die off in war or a heartless dictator that couldn't care less if your pikmin get slaughtered.  Which is fun either way.  Now to the controls.  The controller setup is great, but controlling your army is hard, especially when you have a swarm some go astray if you don't pay attention.  Others wander off like dogs or small children to go suck nectar out of plants.  Thusly controls and controlling are two separate matters.
9.8/10

Graphics: The graphics in this game are awesome, especially for being a launch title.  Everything from the trees to the blades of grass are detailed, and every character, every shade, and every shadow are nicely done.  I found my self at awe when I saw it for the first time!  Seeing how great gamecube's graphics are amazed me.
9.8/10

Sound/music: Nintendo is know for its catchy tunes and good theme songs, and this is no exception.  This game gives you a peaceful ambiance.  The music perfectly fits that, this game just makes you so relaxed like listing to rain or the ocean.  The sound in this game is great!  You hear their head banging on the creatures (which is hilarious) to hearing the cry when they die(sad). There was no off sounds or any mess ups everything fitted.
10/10

Lasting/replay value: The game last 30 days Pikmin time each day is 20 or 30 minutes (I forget which).  Although you can technically beat the game in 10 pikmin day is very hard.  You see you have to collect 30 parts in 30 days, and it doesn't matter how you go about it.So basically you could rush this but like I said its relaxing and you just want to sit there and enjoy it.  Replay is good since you'll want to beat the game in less days or end with more pikmin, so the replay is good.
9/10

Overall: I loved this game as most crazy games.  Its so original and like nothing you've seen before.  It gives you a relaxing feeling that you can't get in games now days.  Its a great game no matter how look at it.  I enjoyed it and think you will too.
