| Game: Luigi's Mansion Players: 1 Memory: 3 Blocks Rating: E The rating system used will be as followed: 1-3=horrible never touch this stuff 4-6=below average very few people would like this game 7-8=average nothing special 9= great game worth atleast checking out 10= perfect could do next to nothing to get better every one should own these kind of games Opening statement: This game was a launch title for gamecube. So since they hurried it to be complete for launch it probably didn't have time to make it as long as some would like and thats its major downfall. One reason I got this game is because the main character is luigi not Mario ,but the lowly brother which is a nice twist. Story: The game starts out as you had won a beautiful mansion ,but when you get there it looks like a haunted old torn up piece of junk.So you go in looking for Mario who was already supposed to be there ,but you cant find him.So some how you run into an old professor(the same dude who invite the fludd in smss) who has said that he has been living there for years and never seen that mansion before last week.Anyway u figure out that there's ghost there that are holding Mario hostage so the professor makes a vacuuming device to catch them. Thus your journey begins. 8.5/10 Gameplay/controls: The gameplay is unique where you use a vaccume cleaner to suck up ghost,Making it original. Another thing different from old Mario games is u cant jump which was kinda disappointing. Now to the controls ,I like the controls alot, id'e say they were about perfect. 9/10 Graphics: The graphics for this game were awesome when it first came out but now ive seen better, alot better, but ill judge this when it first came out.The graphics are better than average by today's standards, but great back then. When I first saw this game I was amazed by how great the graphics were from the see through ghost to the shiny fire balls the game was and is eye candy. 9/10 Sound/Music: The sound is pretty cool you can hear Luigi's voice tremble when he calls out his brothers name (marrrriooo),and when you vacume stuff you can hear it rattle as you suck it up.Now to the music. The games basic ghostly tune helps to fit the moment perfectly .Also this game features some old smb3 music which we all know and love. 9.5/10 Lasting/replay value: As I had said earlier this game is very short you should have it beat in 5 hours max which is way too short for most people but other will like its shortness so the can try to beat it with a better score.Which brings me to my next point replay value some would say it doesn't have munch, but I disagree see theres a point system where u collect money throughout the game and at the end depending on how munch u have collected you buy a bigger house. So since this game is so short it'll be fun to play again in hopes to win a better house. 7/10 Overall: I think this game will have mixed oppions because of the length of the game.I on the other hand enjoyed its length, because im so used to 30 hour rpgs its nice to just beat a game and just get the satisfaction of beating it.But if you are looking for a long epic buy a zelda game instead. To the rest of you I say why not get this game, you can now buy it new for only 30$ and that's definately worth the price. 8.6 Luke Mazanec |
